Privacy notice

What this website collects, why, and what happens to it. The short answer: a contact form that emails me, and nothing that follows you around.

Who is responsible

This website is run by me, Maciej Brzek. I’m self-employed and based in Spain, and I’m the data controller for everything described here. My full business details are on the business information page. You can reach me through the contact form.

The contact form

When you send an enquiry, the form collects your name, your email address, the enquiry type, your message and, if you choose to add it, your company. Nothing else is required.

The submission is sent to me as an email through Resend, an email delivery service, with your address set as the reply-to so I can answer you directly. The website does not keep a database of enquiries: the email is the record.

  • Purpose: to read and reply to your enquiry, and to follow up on it if we agree to work together.
  • Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me.
  • Retention: I keep your enquiry email while we’re talking, and for as long as we work together if it leads to that. If you want it deleted sooner, ask me and I will.
  • No marketing: your details are never added to a mailing list, never used for marketing and never shared for that purpose.

To limit abuse, the form has a hidden field that people never see, and it accepts at most 5 submissions from one network address in 10 minutes. The network address is only ever stored as a one-way hash, and the count is dropped when that window ends. After a submission goes through, a record of it is kept for a day so that a retry from your browser doesn’t send me the same email twice. Neither record contains your name, email address or message.

Analytics

This website runs no analytics. Nothing counts your visits, records what you click or follows you from page to page.

Cookies

The website sets no cookies. It stores one thing in your browser: if the animations run slowly on your device, a note in session storage switches the next pages you open to lighter motion. Your browser deletes it when you close the tab.

Service providers

A small number of providers process data on my behalf to run the site. Each is bound by its own data-processing terms.

Hosting
Vercel Inc., United States. It serves every page and runs the contact form. Like any web host, it receives your network address and browser details with each request.
Email delivery
Resend, United States. It delivers each contact-form enquiry to my inbox.
Where data is processed
Vercel and Resend are based in the United States and may process data there. Both are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognises as giving adequate protection to data sent from the EU.

Your rights

You can ask for access to the personal data I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, ask me to restrict or stop processing it, and ask for a copy in a portable format. To do any of these, contact me through the contact form. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in Spain.

Changes to this notice

I update this notice whenever the services behind the site change. The date of the last change is shown at the top of the page.
